The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium of Delhi is situated near C.G.O. Complex in the Lodhi Road area. Built by the Government of India in the year 1982, it has been serving as an all-purpose sports ground.The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium also hosts entertainment events. A number of concerts by the famous musicians, singers and other performers have been held here in the past.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium was first constructed to host the 9th Asian Games in 1982 (India had also hosted the first Games in 1951, also in New Delhi). The stadium will also host the upcoming 2010 Commonwealth Games. In preparation for the Games, the stadium is undergoing a refurbishment that will reduce the capacity to 75,000 spectators . It will be completed in early 2010.
